SustainCERT, a major player in decarbonisation, raises $10 million with Citizen Capital, Innovacom and Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund

Paris, France – 2021: SustainCERT, a major player in decarbonisation, raises $10 million fundraising with Citizen Capital, Innovacom and Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund. This round of financing will enable SustainCERT to accelerate its growth dynamic.

This transaction brings together major players of Impact and technology investment: the leading impact investing fund Citizen Capital and the venture capital fund Innovacom. Microsoft is also providing financial support to SustainCERT through its Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund. The technology leader has made decarbonisation one of its top priorities and is committed to achieving a negative carbon footprint by 2030.

Launched in 2018, SustainCERT is a leading player in the decarbonisation of economies: the first digital platform for the verification of carbon reduction activities, it also acts as a certification body for carbon credits and official impact statements for the Gold Standard for the Global Goals. This digital platform, unique on the market, has supported more than 1,200 projects covering the energy, land use and waste sectors, simplifying the certification process for carbon offset projects.

This capital raise gives SustainCERT the resources to make major technological investments in its digital platform. Further investments are also planned in research and innovation, to strengthen its position as a leader in creating solutions to measure the carbon footprint of companies.

Marion Verles, CEO of SustainCERT, comments: “Our priority is to provide innovative technological solutions for carbon accounting and verification to gain transparency and credibility. Without these tools to measure that these impacts are real, we will fail. With this strategic transaction, we are taking an important step in our development.”
